Nearly 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the region, generating wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Locals observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were attempting to repair power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred emergency reports across the area, mostly for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Hoppers Crossing area - various emergency calls
- Wyndham area - nearly 180 emergency requests
During the peak on Sunday, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both areas.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
