Two Individuals Formally Indicted with Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges following the incarceration fatality of ex-Lostprophets frontman and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.

Watkins, 48, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were confiscated.
